"PAW rides meet all levels of skills for bikers. The service and prices ore unmatched by other tours. Even when a ride attracts large numbers, the personal touch you add, remains." -Marie Tenzinger Wheaton, IL

Sunday, September 19th.....Sturgeon Bay, Wi......Afternoon check in is followed by a scenic tune up ride in the South Bay area...It won't take long before you realize you are cycling somewhere special. After the ride you can relax in the whirlpool or take a dip in the indoor pool. Or you may want to take a historic walking tour, see the shipyards, or stop in at one of the fine area restaurants or fish boils. After dinner there will be a PAW crash course in ice cream management 101 with those who pass signing up for pastry proliferation 102 and a chance to meet old friends or make new ones.

Monday, 20th...Tour the South peninsula area as you take in the beaches and shorelines so well known to Door County. Discover roads virtually unknown to tourists who travel by car. Return to Maritime Inn for PAW Happy Hour followed by group dinner in Sturgeon Bay. 40-55 miles.

Tuessday, 21st...Sturgeon Bay to Sister Bay. Just give us your bags and get on your bike. Thats all you have to do for a ride that will take you across the peninsula to the Lake Michigan shoreline, thru the forest to Cave Point and Whitefish Dunes Parks and north thru Jacksonport to Sister Bay, a charming village on Green Bay with unique shops, galleries, and fine eateries. John and Nora Zacek will host us at the Open Hearth Lodge the next three nights where we will enjoy indoor pool, whirlpool, and a spacious patio for our off bike times. The Zaceks are cyclists and well aware of our needs and will have garage space for those who don't want to take bikes to their rooms. (2nd floor tandemites did you read that?)  42-55 miles..

Wednesday, 22nd...Sister Bay to Washington Island & return.
This may be as close as most of us will ever come to having an entire Island to ourselves with 100 miles of
paved roads and hardly any people or cars. Our route will enable us to vary our distance and take us to Sand Dunes Beach, Schoolhouse beach, and of course past a few great choices for lunch and ice cream. There will be time to stop in at the Jacobsen Museum and antique shops, to climb a dune, or relax at the beach. Several ferry boats in each direction make it easy to budget your time on the Island. Easy riding with many photo-ops. 35-45-55 miles.

Thursday, 23rd...Sister Bay-Peninsula State Park Loop.
East to Baileys Harbor and the famous Cana Island light house on the Lake Michigan shore. Then west to Fish Creek, the "downtown" of Door County where you will find many choices for lunch, gifts, and scenic bayside views and parks. Of course our route will take us through Peninsula State Park where you can climb the lookout tower, relax on the beach, and visit a lighthouse. For decades the park has been regarded by many as the ideal vacation destination. Our scenic road route goes from one end of the park to the other where a great downhill takes us into the town of Efphraim where you are sure to find whatever you didn't in Fish Creek. PAW group dinner tonight in Sister Bay.          40-55 miles.

Friday, 24th...Sister Bay to Sturgeon Bay....Our return to Sturgeon Bay follows the west side of the peninsula to Egg Harbor and the Green Bay shoreline. About this time you will begin to notice a change in demeanor among your fellow cyclists. They have contacted DCWS---Door County Withdrwal Syndrome-----the natural state of mind that sets in when one is faced with the realization that the end of the tour is near at hand and they will be returning to their usual biking areas. Fortunately there are cures. They are called Dr. J's Tour of Wisconsin River Valleys and Northwoods, both described below.
